Haley Takes to SNL to Mock Trump

(Newsworthy.news) – While facing heat from Republicans for her left-leaning tactics in her presidential campaign, former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley gained more attention for openly mocking her opponent Donald Trump during an appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Haley and Trump are the remaining two candidates in the GOP primary election, competing to represent the Republican party against President Joe Biden in his re-election campaign for the Democrats.

On February 3, Haley made a surprise appearance in a sketch on the comedy show that took aim at the former president and leading GOP candidate. Haley played the role of a “concerned South Carolina voter” in the bit, standing up from the audience and asking the actor playing Trump why he refused to “debate Nikki Haley.”

The actor responded by calling his opponent “Nancy Belosi,” referring to the former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Trump once conflated the California Democrat—whom he has continuously blamed for failing to secure the Capital during the January 6, 2021, riots—with his GOP opponent, Haley.

In response, the former ambassador to the United Nations asked if the acting counterpart of her previous employer was “doing OK,” citing that he “might need” to take “a mental competency test.”

After poking fun at Trump with lines insinuating his lack of respect for women taking charge of the economy, Haley asked as the voter she played if Trump “needed to borrow some money” to pay for his ongoing legal battles with the Biden administration and Justice Department.

Following her appearance on the show, Haley posted on X that voters will “see dead people” should the 2024 presidential race be run between Biden and Trump, suggesting both are too old to be in the White House.

Trump has so far dominated the GOP primary election, claiming sweeping victories in the critical Iowa and New Hampshire caucuses without participating in any debates. The two candidates will face off once again in Haley’s home state of South Carolina on February 24.
