(NewsWorthy.news) – Survivors of the 2023 terrorist attacks in Israel have sued a Palestinian organization for promoting the violence of Hamas in the United States.
On Wednesday May 1, the Greenberg Traurig law firm filed a complaint on behalf of nine individuals who survived the October 7, 2023, massacre in Israel, committed by the Palestinian group Hamas, which is an American-designated terrorist organization.
The lawsuit alleges that the National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP) is being enabled through its parent company, the AJP Educational Foundation or the America Muslims for Palestine (AMP), to stir up violent demonstrations on college campuses in the United States. According to the complaint, these groups are “collaborators and propagandists for Hamas.”
In recent weeks, unlawful demonstrations have occurred on college campuses across the United States, landing many people in jail and attracting the attention of state and federal lawmakers. During that time, more than a thousand people have been arrested at the protests, which have gotten out of hand at 40 different universities.
The lawsuit—which was filed in the federal district court of the Alexandria, Virginia division—alleges that the NSJP and the AMP is enabling tactics designed to “intimidate” and “recruit” college students who are “misguided” and “impressionable” to become “foot soldiers for Hamas.”
The suit further describes the AMP as the terrorist group’s “propaganda division” that operates in America, which was developed following the capture of others who were convicted of liability for “providing material support” to terrorist groups, including Hamas. Additionally, the complaint argues, the anti-Israel organization promotes “globalizing” initiatives against Jews as well as “anyone who dares to support them.”
The plaintiffs in the lawsuit are seven American citizens— Adin Gess, Noach Newman Maya Parizer, Natalie Sanandaji, Yoni Diller, Lior Bar, and David Bromberg—as well as Ariel Ein-Gal and Hagar Almog, who are Israelis.
The lawsuit comes almost seven months after the horrific massacre of innocents in Israeli towns, which sparked the ongoing war and controversy surrounding the Jewish nation’s military response, which has killed thousands more civilians.
