Kamala Releases Video Attacking JD Vance

(NewsWorthy.news.com) – Vice President Kamala Harris released a scathing video against her opponent J.D. Vance less than one day after congratulating him on being chosen as former president Donald Trump’s running mate.

Harris, who is running for re-election alongside Democratic President Joe Biden, called Vance earlier this week to congratulate him on entering the 2024 race. They reportedly spoke on Tuesday—the day after Trump announced his vice-presidential pick at the Republican National Convention (RNC)—and did not shut down the idea of debating each other.

However, less than 24 hours later, Harris released a 45-second video criticizing her opponent. The clip came out hours before the Ohio Senator was set to address the RNC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The sitting vice president used the video as an opportunity to warn voters about the “extreme agenda” that Vance would be promoting.

According to Harris, the GOP candidate was chosen by Trump because Vance will serve as “a rubber stamp” to the “Make America Great Again” or “MAGA” movement, which Harris described as “extreme.” She added that Vance would remain “loyal only to Trump” instead of standing in solidarity with the country.

Harris continued to compare Vance with Mike Pence, who served as vice president in the Trump administration but distanced himself from the former president after he notoriously complained that the 2020 election was rigged. Biden’s vice president noted that Vance, unlike his predecessor, supported what she described as Trump’s “plan to overturn” the last election.

Harris also criticized Vance for his support of a nationwide ban on abortion and his stance against the accessibility of in vitro fertilization (IVF), both of which opinions are the opposite of what Trump believes about the two contentious issues. But she is not the first Democrat to give voice to such warnings about Vance.

Jaime Harrison, head of the Democratic National Committee, described Trump’s new running mate as one who “embodies MAGA,” which was described as an “out-of-touch” and “extreme agenda” planned to be “forced” onto Americans. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren also said that Harris would “take it to J.D. Vance” on the debate stage.
