FBI Agent First Witness Called In Hunter BIden’s Trial

(NewsWorthy.news) – An FBI agent has been called as the first witness to testify against Hunter Biden in his gun trial that is now underway in Delaware.

The son of President Joe Biden allegedly purchased a gun illegally while addicted to drugs. The proceedings are being overseen by U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika. The trial went ahead following an unsuccessful appeal by Hunter’s legal team that called for the charges to be dismissed. The three-person-panel concluded in early May that it was the wrong time for such an appeal.

Prosecutors claim that the 54-year-old recovering addict lied about his drug use to purchase the firearm in 2018. House Republicans accused the president’s son in May of lying under oath and impeding a congressional investigation into the Biden family’s potential links to corruption cases. The bribes of foreign leaders have already resulted in arrests of Hunter’s former business associates Patrick Ho and Ye Jianming. House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith slated the president’s son for acting as if he was above the law.

With the gun trial underway, FBI agent Erika Jensen testified about Hunter’s large withdrawals of cash, the authenticity of his laptop and his past drug use. The laptop has fueled online rumors for years, and Jensen stated that it contained evidence of both Biden’s ongoing use of narcotics and his illegal gun purchase.

Prosecutors will have to demonstrate that the president’s son “knowingly” violated the law and lied about his addiction, according to Hunter’s defense attorney Abbe Lowell. Lowell also took issue with two key witnesses of the prosecution: the man who sold the gun to Hunter and Beau Biden’s widow Hallie Biden, who had a romantic relationship with Hunter after her husband’s death.

In a particularly heated moment in the courtroom, Melissa Cohen-Biden, Hunter’s wife, blasted a former White House aide of Donald Trump, calling him a “Nazi piece of s**t”. The legal battles that the president’s son faces, which also include an indictment relating to alleged tax evasion, raise serious concerns for Joe Biden in the year of the presidential election. The president has reportedly expressed fears that the trial could either endanger the sobriety of the recovering addict or result in jail time for his son.
