Zelensky is Mad Trump Wants to End His War

(Newsworthy.news) – President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has criticized former President Trump for his statements and stances against Ukraine, including the Republican presidential front-runner’s assertion that he can mediate a peace deal between Moscow and Kyiv in just one day.

High-ranking Ukrainian officials have ridiculed Trump’s repeated promises to resolve the war through diplomatic means. In a recent interview with Channel 4 News in the United Kingdom, Zelensky characterized Trump’s statements as “very dangerous.”

During the interview, Zelensky invited Trump to visit Kyiv, taking him up on his claim that he could end the conflict in 24 hours.

Zelensky said Trump will act alone, without consulting anybody else, in other words, without both sides, without Ukraine.

Because, as the Ukrainian commander put it, “he will do anything to implement his idea anyway”—regardless of whether his proposal (for ending the war)—which no one has heard yet—works for us or our people. “And this makes me nervous.” Zelensky stated that this is “very dangerous” in this setting.

Trump has promised at several campaign rallies that he could end the war in one day.

Since making territorial concessions to Moscow would be a realistic possibility, the Biden administration has so far avoided making any significant attempts to bring Moscow to the table in talks with the Ukrainian side.

Only Zelensky’s proposal has received US backing; it calls for an immediate withdrawal of Russian forces from all occupied eastern Ukrainian land, the ceding of Crimea, and payment of war reparations to the Kyiv government.

At last week’s World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Zelensky and his senior officials pushed other countries to support the proposal, particularly those from the Global South.

Andriy Yermak, chief of staff to the president of Ukraine, stated last week that Kyiv now considers China’s participation in future discussions over its peace formula critical.

According to the Ukrainian senior delegate, China must be involved in talks to end the war with Russia after World Economic Forum-related diplomatic engagements. After two years of the dispute, China still hasn’t rebuked Moscow or joined Western-led sanctions, making it the most powerful country in the Global South that is generally seen as siding with Russia.
