Ted Cruz Raises $10M Over Last 3 Months

(NewsWorthy.news) – Junior Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has raised $10 million in the past three months as he fights for his re-election.

The popular Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is currently funding a bid to return to the United States Senate for the third time, but he faces tough competition. More than $9.7 million were donated to the conservative’s campaign between January and March 2024, as first reported by Fox News. The money has come in through the senator’s three fundraising committees, almost doubling what was raised between October and December.

In 2023, Cruz raised $1.8 million, $4.4 million, and $5.4 million in each quarter, respectively. Compared to his 2018 campaign, the senator has brought in $2.7 million more during this quarter than the first and second of his previous election.

According to Cruz’s team, $15.1 million had been given from his committees, cash-on-hand, by the end of March. The funds also included those raised by the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) as well as the Republican Party of Texas (RPT), both of which are supporting his re-election bid.

The cash-on-hand alone is already more than twice the amount Cruz was given at the end of last year. The donations in the beginning of 2024 have come from nearly 180,000 contributions, each averaging a gift of $35.73. Cruz has reportedly been given money from all 254 counties in the Lone Star State as well as supporters from every state in the nation.

The Fox News report comes a week after some have raised concerns about the podcast broadcaster of Verdict with Ted Cruz, iHeartMedia, having paid Truth and Courage PAC more than $630,000 in support of the GOP candidate. The radio group’s contributions amount to a third of the PAC’s revenue since the beginning of 2023. Cruz and his team deny any wrongdoing amid calls for investigating the potential ethics violation.

Cruz faces Democratic Rep. Colin Allred in the election, who has already proven he has significant support from donors and has focused his early campaign on the issue of abortion, an issue his party is counting on for victory in Texas, which has the most restrictive abortion law in the country.
