RFK Jr. Campaign Staffers Are Fleeing En Masse

(Newsworthy.news) – Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s campaign has reportedly suffered as several of his campaign staff have quit. Since the beginning of 2024, 14 members of staff have quit Kennedy’s campaign and cited poor organization, incompetent leadership and lavish spending as the reasons for their departure. One of the anonymous sources close to the campaign blamed Kennedy’s campaign manager and daughter-in-law Amaryllis Fox Kennedy and communications director Del Bigtree in particular and accused both of being self-serving. Another source claimed that they lacked sufficient political experience to run the campaign.

Kennedy’s campaign has already caused controversy with its Super Bowl ad which was a carbon copy of his uncle John F. Kennedy’s advert that was used in his successful 1960 presidential campaign. The advert spliced images of the 2024 presidential candidate into the original advert, prompting one of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s cousins to attack the ad and claim that John F. Kennedy would be “appalled” by his nephew’s views on the COVID vaccine. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. apologized profusely for any offense he had caused to his family and explained that the advert was produced by American Values 2024 political action committee, a Super Pac, and that it was aired without his approval or involvement or that of his staff.

The Democratic National Committee claimed that the Super Pac violated federal laws on campaign financing. Co-founder Tony Lyons responded to the claim by arguing that it was a politically motivated attempt by Democrats to defame Kennedy and drain the campaign’s funds. Fox Kennedy commented that it shows a “partisan entity” becoming increasingly concerned about the viability of President Joe Biden’s campaign.

After one of the departed campaign workers sent a letter suggesting that Kennedy is out of touch with the American people and that the management of the campaign had been hindering the candidate’s chances, Kennedy responded personally by saying that he would look into some of the issues raised and that he was sorry that the campaign had not worked out for them. Fox Kennedy stated that the campaign has over a hundred members of staff and tens of thousands of volunteers who come and go at different phases of the election campaign. She wished the departed campaign staffers the best and stressed that with the most successful independent campaign in decades, Kennedy has been performing well and polling at 34% nine months before the November election.
