Migrant Online Personality Flaunts Riches and Taunts Hard Work

(NewsWorthy.news) – A so-called “migrant influencer” who is unlawfully in the United States has gained attention once more for appearing to mock American citizens who have to work for income and pay taxes.

Leonel Moreno recently posted a set of clips on Instagram in which he mocked fellow immigrants who are working in the United States and taunted viewers with cash he waved in the camera. Per video translation of his Spanish words, the influencer said that he did not make the trip into America to “work like a slave” but came with the intention of “mark[ing] my territory.”

He then boasted that he had enough money to survive for more than a year without having to work, occasionally breaking into song while holding a baby and a stack of cash. Moreno continued to make fun of those who do work for their money, both American citizens and other immigrants who came to find work.

He decried them for being “hurt” while he earns more money than them “without much work” as they “work like slaves.” The influencer further degraded hard working individuals as “exploited,” “miserable,” and “insignificant.”

Although the recent messages were posted to Instagram, Moreno had previously been active on TikTok, earning over 500,000 followers. However, his account seems to have been taken down.

Earlier videos bragged about how he earned $1,000 a week with his “influencing” and that the government had provided an additional weekly stipend of $350 since his family illegally entered the country. Another controversial video featured Moreno encouraging fellow migrants to invoke squatters’ rights and “invade” American homes that had been vacant for periods of time.

Even after his TikTok account was shut down, he explained that he would “keep earning” through videos he posts to Facebook and Instagram and “get” his TikTok account “back.”

According to documents from the Customs and Border Enforcement (ICE), Moreno failed to follow procedure for the Alternative to Detention program and is now listed as “absconded” as he evades arrest for violations.

Moreno entered the United States in April 2022 at the Eagle Pass crossing in Texas. He is a Venezuelan native.
