Key Witness Interview in Hunter Biden Probe Blocked by CIA

(NewsWorthy.news) – A whistleblower has claimed that the CIA prevented federal investigators from interviewing a crucial witness in their investigation into Hunter Biden over allegations of tax fraud. The whistleblower provided the claims to House lawmakers looking into President Joe Biden’s level of involvement in his son’s business ventures.

They claimed that IRS investigators were blocked in 2021 from interviewing Patrick Kevin Morris, dubbed Hunter’s “sugar brother” and told that he was “off-limits.” House leaders wrote to William Burns, the CIA’s director, demanding to know why. Morris is a Hollywood lawyer and a close confidant of the president’s son. He reportedly loaned nearly $7 million to Hunter to help him pay for housing and other expenses and cover back taxes.

The House Judiciary Committee Chairman, Ohio Representative Jim Jordan, and the Oversight Committee Chairman, Kentucky Representative James Comer, wrote in the letter to Burns that they would investigate the allegations. Though a key witness in the Republican-led impeachment probe, Morris slated Comer in January. His attorney Bryan Sullivan accused Comer of inaccurately and partially leaking the interview with Morris to claim that the loans would not need to be repaid until after the 2024 presidential election and that they may be written off entirely. Sullivan stressed that the loans had been given to Biden with proper loan terms and interest rates. He stated that Morris would not “forgive” the loans and fully expected them to be repaid.

Hunter Biden has been hit with nine federal tax charges by Republican Special Counsel David Weiss. The charges are broken down to six misdemeanors and three felonies for $1.4 million in previously owed taxes that have been paid since. The charges launched in December 2023 allege a “four-year-scheme” of allegedly evading taxes from 2017 to 2020 and submitting false tax reports.

The president’s son pleads not guilty to both the tax fraud charges and the gun charges. Comer and Jordan stated that the claims seemed to corroborate their concerns about the Department of Justice deviating from the standard process. They wrote that it was unknown why the CIA allegedly blocked the interview with Morris but that the revelation matched other evidence suggesting that the president’s son was receiving preferential treatment.
