(NewsWorthy.news) – Video footage has circulated online in which an imam said in a sermon at Florida’s North Miami Islamic Center that Jews should be “annihilated.”
Imam Dr. Fadi Kablawi also referred to Jews as “pigs” and “apes” and said the Israeli armed forces were “worse than Nazis”. In his speech the cleric called on Allah to destroy the “tyrannical Jews” and “cut off their seed.” The sermon in question was streamed live on the mosque’s Facebook page. The Middle East Media Research Institute later published a clip of the sermon, in which Kablawi claimed Israeli soldiers had been stealing skin and organs from Palestinians. The cleric added that stealing Palestinian land was “not enough.”
Days after the October 7 attacks, Kablawi asked Allah to show “black days” that he will inflict upon Jewish people. The imam also referred to conspiracy theories that Israel’s rescue and medical personnel deployed to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake were trafficking organs. Kablawi, a practicing dentist, could lose his license over the publicized rants.
Republican state Representative Randy Fine, who chairs the Florida House Health and Human Services Committee, wrote to Florida Board of Dentistry chairman Dr. Jose R. Mellado calling for an investigation into Kablawi’s practice and the suspension of his dental license. Fine stressed that the cleric’s dental practice was located in an area of the state with a large Jewish population, and claimed that several had told him they were scared to realize the radical Islamist was their dentist. Fine argued that Kablawi should not be allowed to practice medicine due to his antisemitic speech violating the “do-no-harm” principle.
In a response to the letter that was sent to the staff members of the Florida Board of Dentistry, Dr. Mellado shared deep concern over the “inflammatory rhetoric” and risk posed to Jewish communities and other ethnic groups. Mellado pleaded with the Board to act accordingly to prioritize the safety of the state’s patients and members of the public. Though the translations provided by the pro-Israel MENRI outlet are reportedly accurate, it has been accused by left-leaning critics of cherry picking its sources to consistently paint the Islamic world in a bad light.
