DNC Billboard Ads in Swing State Target Independent RFK Jr.

(Newsworthy.news) – Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an Independent running for president, has reportedly received money from a former Trump megadonor, transportation businessman Timothy Mellon, via his Super PAC, American Values 2024. In Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Democrat National Committee (DNC) put up four billboards criticizing Kennedy and his campaign.

According to a report, Mellon gave $10 million to MAGA Inc., a Super PAC affiliated with former President Trump, last year.

Before becoming an independent in October of last year, Kennedy competed in the Democrat primary. Many in the political and analytical communities worry that Kennedy may derail the campaigns of either Biden or Trump.

The DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd told the press that RFK Jr. is not fooling anybody. Even Trump’s supporters have praised him as a potential source of electoral turmoil, and he shares funding and support from the same hardline MAGA contributor as the president. He said that Michiganders should not be treated like a stalking horse by hardline MAGA Republicans.

Michigan is a crucial battleground state for the next presidential election, and Kennedy is still trying to get his name on the ballot there. The independent has successfully obtained ballot positions in both New Hampshire and Utah.

Reports show the DNC recently filed a complaint with the FEC, asserting that the Kennedy campaign is engaging in unlawful coordination with American Values 2024. They also said that Kennedy was attempting to bypass the traditional voting process by directing his Super Pac to ensure that he was included on the ballot in every state.

Last Friday, Kennedy posted on X that the state-approved petitions are available to all nationwide volunteers through his website.

Kennedy continued by saying that the DNC’s attempts to censor dissent, stifle democracy, and choose our nation’s leadership in smoke-filled rooms were a dramatic break from the party’s founding principles.

Democrats are worried that John F. Kennedy’s nephew may be a political threat in the 2024 race, according to surveys.

The Real Clear Politics average of polling data shows that Biden is behind Trump in a head-to-head battle, down by only two points. Nevertheless, Biden finds almost five percentage points behind Trump when considering a five-way contest that incorporates Kennedy, Jill Stein, and Cornel West.
