(NewsWorthy.news) – A Texas Democrat competing for a seat to represent the Lone Star State in the Senate was engaged in an event that taught illegal immigrants how to evade authorities, according to a new report.
Rep. Colin Allred is challenging the popular GOP Sen. Ted Cruz in the ongoing Senate race. But news has recently broken that the Democratic lawmaker attended an event during which so-called “know your rights cards” were given to illegal migrants. The campaign event was hosted by the Dallas County Democrat Party.
Information on the cards included certain tips for illegals to keep from being arrested, such as not opening the door to an immigration agent conducting a house call, refusing to answer the agent’s questions, and not signing anything before talking to an attorney.
Additionally, the cards instruct illegal immigrants to inquire whether they are permitted to leave—if they encounter an agent outside their own residence—and, if allowed, to do so “calmly.” Should immigrants be at home when an agent comes, they are told to give the card to him or her, presenting it “through the window” or by slipping it “under the door” if they are inside.
The cards were provided by the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, a left-wing organization. Allred has been known to vote against border security measures in the House, which have become a leading issue ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Under the leadership of Democratic President Joe Biden, millions of illegal immigrants have entered the United States, mainly through Texas.
Cruz has also criticized Allred for taking campaign money from top left-wing donors who are accused of having funded pro-Hamas demonstrations that led to hundreds of arrests on college campuses across the country.
As American voters prepare for a presumed rematch between Biden and his border security advocate GOP opponent Donald Trump, Texans are facing a highly anticipated Senate election of their own. Based on multiple poll results from the Lone Star State, Cruz is favored to Allred 47% to 39%.
