Biden’s Approval Rating Sees Highest Level Since November

(NewsWorthy.news) – This week, Democratic President Joe Biden reached his highest approval rating of the past six months.

A newly released poll from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and the Financial Times showed that the controversial commander-in-chief has reached an approval rating of 43%, putting him up four points compared to results from the same poll last month. The survey included 1,010 registered voters and was conducted from April 4 through April 8.

Additionally, 41% of registered voters expressed support for the way he has managed the economy. This statistic showed an increase of five points compared to polling from March. When comparing the sitting president to his top competitor, former president and leading GOP candidate Donald Trump, 41% of participants expressed that they would rather entrust the economy to the Republican than the Democratic candidate.

Meanwhile, 35% prefer Biden’s economic policies to those of Trump, and 16% revealed that they do not trust either candidate to successfully manage the economy.

Recent polling has proven that the sitting president is facing an uphill battle when it comes to voter approval, as his high scores were barely reaching 40%. One poll from January found that his overall approval rating had declined to 33% while another one from the following month saw a drop to 38%.

Biden was approved with a 45% rating in a poll conducted in November, following a 44% rating and 42% rating the previous October and September, respectively. At the time of these surveys, however, the approval from voters was connected to how the president had managed the economy. His work in this area was approved by 44% at the time of his last highest approval ratings.

But Biden is not the only candidate fighting for higher approval ratings. Trump has also seen high rates of disapproval from voters, leaving the top presidential candidates for the upcoming November election looking like unfavorable choices all around. According to various polls from the past few months, Trump consistently rakes in approval ratings between 39% and 45% among all registered voters, with disapproval ratings increasing.
