Since Biden’s inauguration in January 2021, Republicans and the Biden administration have been embroiled in a disagreement over border policies. Abbott has decided to take matters into his own hands by erecting concertina wire and floating barriers to prevent illegal migrants from reaching the border.
According to reports, Texas put a “marine barrier installation” in place last September to discourage people from crossing the border. This group of orange buoys is designated for use as boundary barriers in the water. This is an element of Operation Lone Star, a program that Republicans in Texas launched to stem the tide of illegal immigration via the southern border.
The governor and other Republicans have shown resistance after the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that federal border authorities may dismantle Abbott’s concertina wire. Meanwhile, Democrats have increased their demands for Biden to federalize the Texas National Guard, leading to a more heated political stalemate.
A report reveals that an extremist state lawmaker from Texas tweeted over the weekend that the US military should eliminate Americans who dared to carry firearms and support Texas.
Abbott explained during his Hannity interview that this was America’s top priority. It would be Joe Biden’s worst political mistake if he federalized our National Guard. That is why he believed he was unlikely to go through with it.
He went on to say that he’s prepared to ensure that Texas remains able to secure the border in the unlikely event that they do commit such an error.
To counter the governor’s apparent strategy, the Fox News anchor advised him not to provide any information so the Biden administration could foil it.
Hannity said that he wouldn’t ask what his strategy was to avoid giving them any clues, which made Abbott laugh.
